The Wikimedia Ghana User Group covered the African Games 2023 which happened in Accra, Ghana. It was the first time an African affiliate was covering the games for Wikimedia commons. This presentation seeks to highlight majority of the issues that we encountered. This coveerage went on to improve majority of the content around African Athletes on their respective Wikipedia pages

Let’s Connect has invested in numerous on-site learning clinics across emerging communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. This presentation aims to disseminate key insights gained from these initiatives, drawing on the firsthand experiences of Let's Connect members who led these initiatives in their respective communities. During this panel discussion, the team leads from each community will share their experiences, successes, challenges, and lessons learned. This will strengthen engagement with Let’s Connect’s efforts and explore opportunities to support more African communities in adopting similar peer learning programs, leveraging the expertise of Let's Connect members.
