The Africa Narrative (TAN) is focusing on three sectors: AfroCreatives WikiProject+film, ACWP+fashion, and ACWP+literature. The first campaign, conducted in 2022, is partnering with The Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO), Africa's largest film festival. The campaign aims to enhance knowledge on Wikipedia about Africa's creative economy by mobilizing African film creatives, professionals, experts, and enthusiasts. The tagged FESPACO edit-a-thon campaign aims to generate quality resources to further document African film and television content across Wikipedia, Wikidata, and Wikimedia Commons.
African Wikimedians now have a collective action; The Africa Agenda, which documents challenges, opportunities and recommendations to some of the most pressing issues facing the community. This session seeks to engage African Wikimedians,other movement stakeholders attending Wikimania 2024 on the implementation of the Africa Agenda as we demonstrate the impact of regional collaboration within the continent. It also aims to explore strategies for enhancing collaboration and representation among African Wikimedians to amplify the representation of African knowledge and perspectives on Wikimedia platforms.
